Abnormal Days

These last few days at camp have been abnormal for us.

Judah and June are happily away at “Papa & Tante” camp in North Carolina, which means Jonathan and I are down to one kid.

Miloman is keeping us busy and entertained as usual. Every chair is a jungle gym. Our youngest is brimming with new words and constantly belting out his ABCs and favorite nursery rhymes. Two might be a lot of work, but it’s my favorite of the toddler years.

I’m embarrassed to say I had to spend most of Sunday on the couch icing my knee, which was about the size of a small cantaloupe, from dancing too hard in closing worship. 😬 It’s official. I’m no longer in my invincible 20s like these college staffers.

On Sunday night, Jonathan and I got a babysitter for the evening so we could find some sushi and catch the new Indiana Jones movie. I good cried. Twice! Highly recommend.

Meanwhile, Judah and June have been running bases with Wooly Bully in North Carolina and having so much fun. This is extra special for me because one of the first places I sang the national anthem was at a Durham Bulls game. So thankful my Dad is keeping this sweet tradition going, and for all the priceless memories they’re making right now.

This new week of camp brought our biggest group of campers yet (700+) and many churches and leaders that are dear to us. After all these years, seeing these friends is one of the highlights of our summers.

We’re thankful to the Lord, who continues to refresh our hearts as we press into the last few weeks of camp this summer.
